Xiaomi has become one of the most well-known brands in the world lately. Its growth over the years has taken a steep climb thanks to the company’s products lineup.
While some other companies have begun to jump onto the notched-display bandwagon now, Xiaomi was one of the first firms to come up with a device having a true bezel-less display in the form of Mi Mix back then.
Today at a special event in Beijing, Xiaomi introduced the successor to the yesteryear’s Mi Mix 2S, dubbed as Mi Mix.
Mi Mix 3 is a full-screen device that boasts a gigantic edge-to-edge display, just like the previous devices of the Mix series.
This giant slate of ceramic features a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that covers the whole front side. The display comes with 19:5:9 aspect ratio at a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Due to the very thin bezels, the device is able to achieve a massive 93.4 percent screen to body ratio.
With Mi Mix 3, the Chinese company has tried something from the books of Oppo Find X. Just like the latter, the Mi Mix 3 doesn’t have visible front cameras.
The new Mi Mix 3 has a non-motorized sliding mechanism that reveals a 24MP + 2MP dual-camera setup for taking selfies. Unlike Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex, it might make a user feel more natural with his actions to playing with the new camera setup since it doesn’t utilize a motorized system.

For taking photos and recording videos, Mi Mix 3 has a 12MP + 12 MP rear camera setup. The primary imaging sensor has an aperture value of f/1.8 while the telephoto lens possesses a f/2.4 aperture rating. Similarly, the primary lens has larger individual pixels measuring at 1.4 microns whereas the secondary lens flaunts pixels having a size of 1.0 microns.
Interestingly, Xiaomi doesn’t shy away from flaunting the DxOMark rating for its latest piece of tech. The company didn’t forget to mention that the Mi Mix 3 scored 108 and 93 in DxOMark’s photo and video tests.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 houses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes in 3 variants in total: 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage, 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage, or a Forbidden City Special Edition boasting massive 10GB of RAM coupled with 256GB of internal storage.
To power the whole setup, the phone is occupied by a 3200mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ technology. Xiaomi is also throwing in a 10W wireless charging pad with every variant of the mobile.
The Mi Mix 3 runs on Google’s newest Android P operating system out of the box while the custom MIUI 10 skin runs atop.
The mobile, just like almost every other device these days, has a face-unlocking mechanism along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device. Other than that, the Mi Mix 3 misses out on the headphone jack and employs a USB Type-C port for wired connectivity.
