Honor Play With Kirin 970 SoC Hits The Shelves – Goes On Sale Starting Today On Amazon

Honor Play is yet another device from the Huawei-owned brand called Honor. The new Honor Play was launched today at a media event in New Delhi, India.

Launched at 19,999 in Midnight Black and Navy Blue colorsthe mobile offers a slew of features that you would generally expect from a more expensive phone.

The Honor Play will be sold exclusively on Amazon India with its first sale starting at 4 PM today.

To begin with, the newcomer comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) display having a pixel density of 409 PPI. Apparently, the screen has a display-notch just like an iPhone X.

The new Honor Play sports an ultra modern 19:9 aspect ratio, giving the phone a taller profile. Adding to that, the company touts the screen as the Honor FullView Display. It’s nothing to be shocked about since we have seen many others phones coming with the same display-tech from the mentioned brand.

Measuring at 7.48mm thin with a weight of 176 g, this new player has a metal slick metal uni-body design to go with.

Talking about the mobile’s power prowess, Honor Play packs an in-house Kirin 970 AI octa-core chipset. Notably, it couples with artificial intelligence enabled NPU for providing AI experience to the user.

Additionally, the processor on-board takes an extra mile in gaming and graphics performance as it comes bundled with GPU Turbo technology.

The primary camera setup on the Honor Play flaunts a 16MP + 2 MP Dual AI camera module. It comes with EIS + AIS for better stabilization along with PDAF and Auxiliary Light technology.

Other than that, Smart Photography on the mobile allows for its cameras to identify 22 different categories and up to 500 real-time scenarios.

And for taking selfies, the phone features a 16MP front-facing sensor which resides in the display notch. Even the front camera on the Honor Play is AI Portrait and 3D Portrait Lightning-enabled.

Just like a pile of other phones these days, Honor Play can utilize AI algorithm to achieve the bokeh effect for the selfies.

Adding to the purpose of adopting AI, the mobile boasts Face Unlock feature. As per the company, newer technology allows it to adapt to minute facial changes and even to different lightings.

Apart from face unlocking mechanism, the mobile features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking.

The Honor Play comes with 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The phone comes embedded with either 4GB or 6GB.

The Android 8.1 Oreo operating system is what makes this phone run with the EMUI 8.2 skin deployed on top of it.

The smartphone retains the 3.5mm audio jack, which is generally missing on many of the phones these days. It also has a modern USB Type-C interface for wired connectivity.

Powering the whole package is a 3750mAh battery which gets support from a 9V 2A fast charger for quickly filling up the juice.

Additionally, the Honor Play is a dual-SIM device and possesses basic features like Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, VoLTE and so on.
